Security Industry Exhibition and Conference
2 to 4 September 2026, International Convention Centre Sydney
Security 2026 will celebrate four decades as Australia’s premier security industry exhibition and conference when it returns to ICC Sydney from 2 to 4 September.
The two-day ASIAL Security Conference which runs from the 2nd to 3rd September, forms a core part of the event, bringing together the people, insights and connections shaping the industry’s future.
Under the theme ‘Strengthening security in an era of increased complexity and risk, strategies to stay change ready’, the two-day conference program will address the rapidly converging pressures facing security leaders, including geopolitical instability, cyber threats, critical infrastructure obligations, artificial intelligence, workforce capability and rising expectations of organisational resilience.
Conference delegates will hear from more than 20 senior security practitioners, national security leaders, researchers and technology experts who will translate emerging risks into practical strategies delegates can apply within their own organisations. Among the program highlights include:
- Hamish Hansford, Head of National Security at the Department of Home Affairs, will deliver the opening keynote on strengthening security intelligence and national resilience in an increasingly complex threat environment.
- Dr John Coyne, Director of the National Security Program at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, will examine how geopolitical instability and hybrid threats are affecting Australia’s economic resilience, supply chains, critical infrastructure and institutional trust.
- Alastair MacGibbon, former Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Cyber Security, will issue an urgent call to action on a cyber threat landscape being reshaped by AI and the collapse of traditional boundaries between physical, insider and cyber risk.
- Lauren Campbell, Security Manager at South Bank Corporation, will share a real-world case study on transforming security at one of Australia’s most visited crowded places through an intelligence-led, integrated operating model.
The program will also include the release of Security 2030 – a five-year future report on the outlook for the Australian security industry prepared by Edith Cowan University, along with sessions covering agentic AI and SOCI Act compliance, data centre security, insider threats, digital sovereignty, technology-enabled crowd management and nationally consistent professional standards.
The milestone celebrations will continue on Thursday 3 September, with the Security Gala Dinner to be held in the Parkside Ballroom at the ICC Sydney.
Organised by Diversified Australia, the Security Exhibition runs from 2 to 4 September 2026 and will showcase the latest physical, electronic and integrated security technologies.
