Gigamon and Splunk have announced a new partnership aimed at helping organisations strengthen security visibility across increasingly distributed IT environments.
The collaboration integrates the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline with Splunk Federated Search, enabling security teams to access and analyse network-derived telemetry data without first centralising large volumes of information.
As cyber threats become more sophisticated and enterprises continue adopting hybrid cloud architectures, security teams face growing challenges in maintaining visibility across fragmented environments. At the same time, the rapid growth of AI-driven workloads is creating additional demands on security monitoring and analytics platforms.
The Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline addresses these challenges by converting raw network traffic into enriched telemetry data. The platform extracts application-level metadata from both north-south and east-west traffic flows, providing deeper operational and security context.
By integrating with Splunk Federated Search, organisations can query and investigate distributed datasets directly at their source. This allows security teams to access critical information across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments while reducing the need to move or duplicate data.
The companies say the combined offering provides a more efficient way to operationalise distributed data and support threat detection, incident response and security operations activities.
The announcement also highlights the growing importance of deep observability as organisations seek to improve visibility into encrypted traffic, cloud-native applications and increasingly complex network architectures.
For security teams tasked with monitoring expanding attack surfaces, the ability to gain richer telemetry insights while controlling data management costs is becoming a key operational requirement.
The partnership is expected to help organisations improve visibility, accelerate investigations and make better use of existing security analytics investments.
