Gigamon launches AI-powered tools to help IT leaders uncover rogue AI usage and secure cloud infrastructure
Gigamon has taken a major step forward in securing hybrid cloud environments with the rollout of new AI-driven capabilities designed to combat the rise of “shadow AI”—unsanctioned or invisible generative AI usage within organisations.
Announced today, the first phase of Gigamon’s multi-year AI strategy introduces AI Traffic Intelligence, a real-time traffic visibility solution that tracks GenAI and large language model (LLM) activity across 17 of the most widely used engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and DeepSeek. The technology surfaces previously invisible AI activity, enabling security and IT teams to identify unapproved AI use, monitor cost-driving patterns, and apply policy-based controls—even on encrypted traffic and without needing an agent.
“As GenAI adoption accelerates, visibility gaps are turning into real risks,” said Michael Dickman, Chief Product Officer at Gigamon. “With AI Traffic Intelligence, we’re delivering a tool that helps security teams take back control—by finally being able to see what AI services are running in their networks.”
According to a recent Hybrid Cloud Security Survey of over 1,000 IT leaders, one in three reported a doubling of network traffic due to GenAI workloads. Yet 55% admitted their current tools can’t keep up with modern threats, leading 88% to now view deep observability—network-derived insights combined with log data—as essential.
Gigamon’s solution plugs that gap. Because AI Traffic Intelligence is agentless and works across public cloud, private data centres, containers, and virtualised environments, it provides comprehensive oversight without increasing operational overhead.

AI Traffic Intelligence is now available for all GigaVUE Cloud Suite users, with further enhancements expected at the company’s Visualyze Bootcamp in September.
