ASX-listed Elsight’s tech to be used in Goshawk drone interceptors

ASX-listed drone communications company Elsight and drone maker Robotican have announced a partnership whereby Elsight‘s Halo system will be used in Robotican’s Goshawk drone interceptor.

Goshawk, is a fully autonomous drone, which executes interception missions by seamlessly snaring adversary drones mid-flight.

The partnership will optimise Beyond the Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) communications and connectivity systems for Robotican’s counter drones for military and defence missions.

Goshawk is also being used by police, ambulance, and fire services in Israel. It can also be used as a first responder drone, assessing situations with its camera before the arrival of ground teams.

Military and defence organisations around the globe have added counter UAS systems to their arsenals to identify and disrupt adversarial drones.

This is often the case when the overall goal is to intercept without causing any inadvertent damage, while ensuring secure apprehension of the hostile drone.

Robotican’s Goshawk, a fully autonomous drone, which flawlessly executes interception missions by seamlessly snaring adversary drones’ mid-flight (Surgical Discreet C-UAS mitigation), is a leading example.

Optimizing the Goshawk’s flight performance will be Elsight’s Halo, a platform for robust, secured connectivity using AI-based, multi-link bonded communications.

Goshawk’s autonomous repertoire is comprised of in-flight target detection, precise tracking, secure locking, target pursuit, and flawless capture of a hostile system.

Goshawk is also being used by police, ambulance, and fire services in Israel. It can also be used as a first responder drone, assessing situations with its camera before the arrival of ground teams.

Elsight’s Halo creates a bonded tunnel of the available links from LTE, 5G, SatCom and RF channels for continuous uptime and connection between the drone (UAV or UAS) and the ground control station.

“Even in regions with minimal signal coverage, Elsight’s Halo can provide a quick and consistent connection between the Goshawk aircraft and its control station,” said Robotican’s CEO Hagai Balashi.

Elsight’s Halo system delivers the most solid LTE link that Robotican had ever experienced, in addition to high-quality data streaming.

In testing, the Halo performed seamless handover of the aircraft control from one pilot to another, thereby reducing the risk of C2 failure significantly.”

Elsight is proud to partner with Robotican in its dedication to maintaining safe skies with its Goshawk system, an exceptional example of hostile drone interception capabilities,” said Yoav Amitai, Elsight’s CEO.

“In our work together, we have significantly accelerated the ‘detect, react, and eliminate’ process by enhanced situational awareness.”
