Milestone Systems announces new Country Manager for South Pacific region

Milestone Systems has announced the appointment of Ash Ramanayake to the role of Country Manager. Based out of Milestone’s regional headquarters in Melbourne, Ramanayake will assume responsibility for Milestone’s operations in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider South Pacific region.

Widely known after 19 years in the Australian security industry, Ramanayake joins Milestone after 14 years at distributor CSD, most recently starting the Enterprise team and holding the role of Enterprise Sales Manager for four years. Prior to that, Ramanayake opened and managed the Queensland branch of CSD, and also launched the Inner Range Integriti brand in Australia.

“We have worked very closely with Ash for many years and bringing him into the Milestone family seems like the most natural fit possible. His knowledge is second-to-none, and he has amassed a vast network of contacts within the industry and wider business community that will be extremely valuable to our continued success in the region,” said Jordan Cullis, Sales Director for APAC at Milestone Systems.

Ramanayake joins Milestone at a time when the company is poised to expand operations in Australia and New Zealand and will be responsible for overseeing a critical restructure coupled with new resources.

With the ongoing evolution of video across a wide range of situational awareness and smart city deployments, scope for Milestone’s XProtect open platform is growing exponentially – both in A/NZ and overseas.

“Milestone is an exciting organisation that I have been involved with for several years. Seeing it from the outside in always gave me a perspective of what a big tech company should look like. The company culture and drive from all levels of the business is evident in their MIPs events and the way they conduct business with their customers. These are the underlying factors that made my decision to move to Milestone a bit of a no brainer,” states Ramanayake.

Milestone is currently advertising new roles to expand the team in Queensland and is poised to announce a series of internal moves and promotions shortly.

“The future direction of Milestone and the ambitions of the five-year strategy are captivating. Now that I am seeing it from the inside, the plan is incredibly inspiring. I’m very excited to be part of this amazing organisation and helping the team here to reach our collective goals,” concludes Ramanayake.
