Axis wins design award for new Melbourne offices

Axis Communications has announced that the company’s new Oceania headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, have won the Silver Award for interior corporate design at the 2021 Melbourne Design Award, as presented by DRIVENxDESIGN.

Axis Communications worked in conjunction with Axiom Workspaces to design and build a bespoke office space in Melbourne’s CBD. The design includes open-plan and enclosed offices, purpose-built meeting spaces for demonstrating products, and a solution-hub known as the Axis Experience Centre – where customers and integrators can get hands-on experience with Axis solutions and see them working in conjunction with other members of the Axis partner ecosystem.

“We have put a lot of thought, time and effort into creating the ideal space for our customers, partners and people, and to win this prestigious award for it is testimony to that,” said Wai King Wong, Regional Director for Oceania at Axis Communications. “We now have the space we need to provide real and tangible value to our organisation, from the wellbeing of employees through to the future-proof technology we require to help us move forward.”

Axis Communications is on a sustainable growth curve, having redesigned the company’s organisational structure in early 2021. The internal transformations spotlighted the need for a leading-edge, purpose-built, award-winning office design that will aid the company’s regional growth.

The Axis Communications people strategy focuses on the value that individuals bring to the wider team, and equipping them for closer collaboration, connection, and inclusion. The newly-designed office space represents those values and provides conditions for employees to thrive and be productive.

“Due to our long-held reputation as industry leaders and sustainability pioneers, people see Axis as a place for meaningful careers within an ethical organisation. Now we have a world-class facility that echoes our principles: built with sustainable products and materials, low carbon footprint as well as minimal running costs. I am thrilled with the space, as I feel it will nurture individual growth, within an engaged and connected environment,” concludes Wong.

Axis Communications plans to officially launch the new office at a later stage, once current business conditions stabilise.
