New training package for private investigator licences in Queensland

Queensland has just announced that it has introduced a new training package for private investigators under the Security Providers Act 1993. According to the Office of Fair Trading, The Certificate III in Investigative Services CPP30619 training package will replace the former Training Package CPP07 2011.

Under the former package, to become licensed as a private investigator in Queensland, anyone person applying for this licence was required to attach proof that they had completed the required training when lodging an application form with the Office of Fair Trading.

Under the new package, there are five core modules and 11 elective modules that people must complete before applying for a private investigator licence. Details of the training package and modules are available on Queensland Government website or by clicking this link.

The Office of Fair Trading will still accept proof of the former CPP07 2011 training package for private investigator licence applications up until 29 March 2021. After this date, applicants must supply proof of completion of the Certificate III in Investigative Services CPP30619.
