A sophisticated electronic security management system designed by high-technology defence and security company, Saab Australia, will soon secure several New South Wales prisons.
Saab’s OneViewTM will manage security, surveillance and facility management functions at the Dillwynia Women’s Correctional Centre, Mid North Coast Correctional Centre at Kempsey and the Clarence Correction Centre near Grafton.
The prisons’ electronic security specification demanded a highly automated, user-friendly system with open architecture that integrates ‘best-of-breed’ sub systems at any time with minimum risk.
OneView was engineered from the ground up to be a highly reliable, simple to use, physical security information management system perfect for critical infrastructure facilities like prisons said Saab Australia, department manager public safety and security, Michael Wilkin.
The integrated security management system connects all security subsystems—such as CCTV cameras, video management, access control points, intrusion detection devices, intercoms, biometric scanners and more—into one simple interface.
“When a security breach unfolds, a lot of information is generated via different sensors, so it’s critical the system is fast, foolproof and robust.
“OneView brings all this information together intelligently, presenting the critical information needing attention and advice for personnel on how to action,” said Michael Wilkin.
Designed in Adelaide by the engineers who developed the Royal Australian Navy’s battle-proven combat management system, OneView is also securing hospitals, defence bases, government buildings, detention centres and other major prisons around the country.
