Milestone Systems supporting Beyond Blue at charity fun run

Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), will enter a team in this year’s Run Melbourne event on July 28th. All company participants will be raising money for non-profit mental health support organisation Beyond Blue.

Staff have been training for several months and will compete in either the 4km Friendship Dash, 5km, 10km or 21km run. More than 20,000 participants are expected this year, with the various runs starting from the corners of Swanston and Flinders streets. The event enters its twelfth year, and to date participants have raised more than $16.5 million for over 400 charities. This year’s charity fundraising target is set at $2 million.

Milestone Systems will enter a team of 14 runners, with a variety of ages, fitness levels and running experience.

Mike Metcalfe, National Projects Manager South Pacific at Milestone Systems, said:

“This year I will be running 21km along with our fantastic team here at Milestone Systems’ Melbourne office to show my support for Beyond Blue, an organization that shares knowledge about mental illness. Our aim here, as individuals and as a team, is to raise awareness for mental health and donate as much money as we possibly can to Beyond Blue.”

Jordan Cullis, Director of Sales and marketing for APAC, Milestone Systems, said of the event: “At Milestone Systems, we take our responsibility for our employees very seriously and recognise that mental health is a critical issue. With around one in five Australians suffering from mental illness at some stage of their lives, more needs to be done. If we can help to raise money and awareness by stepping out of our own comfort zones for a short while, hopefully we can make a meaningful contribution to this critical issue.”
