SA2016_NewLogo1Safeguarding Australia 2016, the 13th National Security Annual Summit will bring together leading industry experts from government, corporate, non-government and university sectors to explore policy changes presented by the evolving threat landscape and to discuss opportunities for improving Australia’s capability and resilience in the counterterrorism space with two plenary days and two smaller forums of National Security Science & Innovation Forum and Blast & Other Extreme Events – Design and Modelling Forum for Practitioners and Researchers

Keynote speakers: The Hon. Peter Dutton, Minister of Immigration and Border Protection and a team of European academics involved in PRIME (Preventing, Interdicting and Mitigating Extremism) project, which is a major EU – funded international research project aiming to improve our understanding of lone actor terrorism and to inform the design of social and physical counter-measures for the prevention of lone-actor radicalisation, the disruption of lone-actor terrorist plots, and the mitigation of terrorist attacks carried out by lone extremists.

Safeguarding Australia is Australia’s premier national security conference series. The annual summit is organised by the Research Network for a Secure Australia (RNSA), an Australian Research Council funded research cooperative.
