“Explosives 2014” is for everyone with an interest in the legal or illegal use of explosives. The Australian Security Research Centre is pleased to confirm the forum will be opened by Senator Fawcett Chair of the Defence Sub-Committee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade introduced by the Rector of the University of New South Wales at ADFA.
Current topics include: humanitarian de-mining and demilitarisation operations; nationally consistent legislation and regulation; training of bomb technicians; manufacture of explosives and ammunition; the effects of an IED on an individual; intelligence; explosive research; blast modelling; protecting a major venue; international agreements and limitations; concerns over consulting on bomb safety and security; pyrotechnics; and disposal issues. The forum is at ADFA in Canberra on 1-2 October and profits go to Soldier On. Early bird registration of $990 (incl GST) continues until the end of August.
