Radware has announced Alteon Protect, a new solution designed to strengthen application security by combining cloud-based threat detection with high-performance enforcement at the application delivery controller (ADC) level.
The launch reflects growing demand for scalable security as organisations increasingly rely on web applications and APIs to deliver digital services. As attack volumes grow and threats become more sophisticated, many businesses struggle to expand protection without increasing complexity or affecting performance.
Alteon Protect aims to address this challenge by integrating the company’s cloud security platform with its Alteon ADC infrastructure. The solution uses real-time threat intelligence and AI-driven detection to identify malicious activity while enforcing mitigation locally on the device.
By separating detection from enforcement, the platform can scale security capabilities through the cloud while maintaining the performance advantages of on-premises appliances.
The system is designed to mitigate a range of application-layer threats including Web DDoS attacks, automated bot traffic, API abuse and web application exploits. Radware says the architecture allows organisations to deploy protection without sharing SSL certificates with the cloud or redesigning network infrastructure.
According to the company, the approach allows organisations to extend the lifespan and capability of existing ADC infrastructure while gaining cloud-scale protection.
“Alteon Protect is designed to deliver continuous, cloud-scale security while preserving existing investments,” said Gabi Malka, chief operating officer at Radware.
The solution can be deployed directly by enterprises or delivered as a managed service by telecommunications providers and managed security service providers (MSSPs). The platform supports multi-tenant environments, enabling service providers to deliver security services to multiple customers without significantly increasing infrastructure complexity.
Radware says the offering forms part of its broader strategy to deliver AI-driven application and API protection for organisations operating across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
