PMT Security Completes Major Integrated Infrastructure Project on Gold Coast

Australian-owned PMT Security and Communications has completed a large-scale security and communications infrastructure project for a critical services facility on the Gold Coast, delivering the 12-month job on time and on budget.

The project was awarded to PMT following a competitive tender process, with the company selected for its ability to deliver both security and communications infrastructure in-house. This single-provider model allowed for simplified project management and tighter control over delivery.

“Being able to work with one contractor across the full scope of works simplified the project management side of things significantly, and provided a high level of control,” a project spokesperson said.

The scope of the work included:

  • Electronic access control and intruder detection across 40 doors

  • A full IP CCTV solution from Avigilon, with 40 internal and external cameras

  • IP-based intercom systems across eight key locations

  • Over 56,000 metres of Siemon CAT6A cabling and 1,300+ network outlets

  • 600 metres of Siemon OM4 fibre optic cabling

  • CAT3 telephony systems, RF backbone infrastructure, and MATV distribution

All systems were designed and installed to meet or exceed strict compliance standards, using high-spec technology including Siemon-certified cabling, HID Seos encrypted credentials, and Inner Range access control platforms.

PMT worked alongside consultants to refine and adjust elements of the infrastructure plan, improving overall efficiency and ensuring long-term performance. The company delivered the project within the scheduled timeframe and met all milestone and budget targets.

“This project highlights our ability to deliver fully integrated solutions – from planning through to final commissioning,” said Aaron Shorter, National Business Development Manager at PMT. “By managing both security and communications in-house, we reduce complexity and risk for the client.”

The client noted the quality of the finished work, commenting that the upgrade “put the existing site to shame.”

With its communications division continuing to grow, PMT sees this project as a strong example of its capability to deliver enterprise-grade infrastructure that supports critical operations.
